Septarian Geode is such a special stone as it evolved over 50 to 70 millions years ago from mud balls at the bottom of the sea where it collected the minerals that give it its distinctive color - Yellow calcite, brown aragonite, grey limestone and white/clear barite.
In this tribal statement necklace, a septarian geode pendant is hand wrapped in coils of hammered brass and is attached with brass wire to large brass beads, including the cage-like West African Baule bead that is handmade from wax and cast with molten brass, a technique that dates back to the 7th century. The 15.25-inch scored brass cable chain is adjustable up to 25 inches. As with all of our jewelry, each stone and bead is unique and may have minor imperfections.
