This art piece is autobiographical: I'm that person on the exam table, having that exact conversation with my doctor. Young women today may not fully realize the harsh reality of what women endured before Roe v Wade. This reflects a personal, painful moment in my life in memoriam of this dark time.

About the Event
My latest art piece is autobiographical.
I'm that person on the exam table, having that exact conversation with my doctor.
A lot of younger women don’t fully realize what women endured before Roe v Wade. That legislation opened the door to safe, legal abortions. It saved countless of women’s lives. Deaths resulting from bleeding out or infection. Back alley abortions stopped and alternatives became available. And as time passed, abortions became even safer becuase of the resources invested in research and training. My piece also serves to spotlight the potential consequences of a 6:3 conservative Supreme Court. What will happen when Amy Comey Barrett shifts the conversation to anti-Abortion? And with so many states enacting more restrictions on women’s rights, the young generation of women today cannot become complacent. It couldn't be more imperatie to not wind back the clock to a darker time. It's with this in mind, I've chosen to share this personal, painful, confusing moment.
